Maybe working not business

Everyone in the world should have a job because he or she needs money to live. I often think about what will be my job in the future. Sometimes I want to be an entrepreneur and start my own company. Maybe that is because I want to be very rich~~(maybe everyone wants to be) but now, I changed my idea. I found that I did not have the characteristic and abilities to start and own my business. I think that I can not bear the whole pressure to be an owner. At this time, I just want to be an employee in a big successful corporation. But that is not because I do not want to earn more. I want to be a advanced employee who can earn lots of money~~hah…that is like day-dream….so I should fight for it.
Now I have a part-time job at Den. It is a restaurant company in the University. I work very hard. I learned a lot from this working experience. I know the important relationship between boss and employees, the important relationship between me and other workers, and how to work effectively I am sure this experience can really help me a lot in the future after I have a full-time job. The first important thing I should finish is my study. I want to work in a great business so that I will change my major from economics to business. Though the business school is harder, I like it. That will be an important step for my whole life.

The Trip to Banff

At the time I came to Calgary, I heard about that the Banff National Park was one of the best places you must visit, because it is extremely picturesque and it has a unique sight in Canada, even in North American. This Wednesday, my girlfriend and I went to the resort.
After about 2 hours bus time, we arrived at Banff. We saw the charming snow mountains which were around us as soon as we got off the bus. I have never seen snow mountains before, so this view made me more excited. Thought it was a little colder, it did not decrease our enthusiasm to this small town. This was a pacific town, though there were some visitors. That day’s weather was so great that the sunlight was shining on the land and the wooden houses which made the small town quiet and a little lazier. I thought residents preferred enjoying life to working or studying here. The houses in this town were all delicate and particular and they all made me want to visit them even live in them. After a short trip in the town centre, we took the town bus to the upper hot spring. I could not describe the beauty when I stood on the high point of the mountain. I immersed into the hot water, feeling the special sense, watching the transparent sky and the snowy mountains. I even fell asleep in the hot spring, so you can image how comfortable it was. Then we two went to the museum and saw the natural animal exemplars. The bison and deer were very huge and shocked me a lot.
I also wanted to go ski in Lake Louis but one day was not a enough time to go. That was the only pity of my trip. I cannot forget this trip in my life because this was my first trip in Canada and it was really fantastic!

Dream in My Real Life

Everyone has a dream.
Martin Luther King had a dream-and we can all recall his Civil Rights Speech. Phil Knight had a dream-and now the whole world knows his Nike Slogan “Just Do It”!
I also have a dream, but not only a simple one.
When I was in primary school, my dream was that I would be a doctor when I grew up. I’ll be the first person who produces a new medicine. This kind of medicine can make teachers relax when they are busy correcting their students’ exercises and preparing their lessons. Because one day when I woke up at midnight, I found my father, a senior Chinese teacher, was still busy with his work. I was deeply moved. I wish my father could be healthy and relaxed every minute. Sometimes, I dreamed that I had invented this kind of medicine and when I woke up, I was a little sad. I hope this kind of dream can predict the future and has magic power in order to fulfill my dream.
Now I’m university student. All my classmates and I are working hard. We all know the EAP3 is tough and difficult for us. We must study harder and harder in order to go to university, then when we finish our study; we can find a good job in society. My dream is also that. Though now I’m not good at study, I’ll try my best.
I know fantasy is hard to come true, but dream can.
I’ll work hard for my dreams, I’ll never give up.

Be Your Own Explorer

We all know that there are many explorers in the world, such as Columbus, Zhenghe, Captain Cook, and so on. They all have the curiosity of everything and they require everything new. They were all famous and made great progress for the whole earth. Not every common person can make so great progress for the world; however, everyone is able to be his or her own explorer.
When I was a child, I used to play with my friends outside. Climbing up and down the sand mountain and fight by water, riding my small toy tricycle in my garden, going out to catch grasshoppers to cook them to eat, hah~~ , and so on. I felt wonderful when I played with my friends and that things really made me happy everyday. Till one day, my uncle was watching soccer game and I was really attracted by the view of the screen. I saw the green grass playground and handsome players. From that time on, I knew this game would be my delight and it would make me full of pleased in my whole life and sure it was. At the very beginning, I knew nothing about this game. I made a decision to “explorer” it~~ I began to read the books about the skills of soccer and some stories about the soccer super stars. After every “exploring”, I would find something new which I did not know before, just like Columbus discovering the new land. Now I have a large deal of knowledge of soccer and I am good at playing it!
Finally, I want to say that everyone is his or her own explorer if he or she has the spirit of curiosity. I was attracted by soccer so I explored the field of soccer. Maybe you are interested in some other fields; why not try to explore them?? Just like you are the Columbus!!

Helpful exercises

In the wring class, we did a special exercise which has never done in EAP2 class. We exchanged our drafts each other and we read our partner’s draft. After it we wrote two stars and a wish as a general comment to the draft. This editing experience really helped us a lot. Before I came to Canada, I had also done this exercise in my country in Chinese class. The articles I wrote in Chinese has improved greatly because we also exchanged our drafts to classmates. Though the essay we wrote now is in English, the basic purpose of this exercise is the same as before. Through reading my partner’s essay, I can easily get the basic idea what he wanted to state. The techniques he used can be known and then maybe I can use the skills of writing he used in this essay into my next essay. Everyone has own advantages and disadvantages. The advantages he owns may not exist in my essay so I can learn a lot advantages to improve myself. We must praise our partners’ excellences in the comments and this can also help them to maintain these. The disadvantages we found in partners’ essay are the urgent aspects they really need to correct. This can make them avoid these disadvantages in the following essays. In addition, maybe I can not find the disadvantages of my writing but my partner finds them, this will be extremely helpful. Thus, this editing exercise can be a good way to help me and I will make great process on learning English.

new route

I cannot wait for the new semester and now the wonderful class is on the way!! This is the first week of my EAP3 class~ everything here is very fresh and excited! I met a lot of people here. Some of them were my classmates and also my good friends and the rest of them are new here whom I am unfamiliar with. But I always feel very excited because I can make much more friends and learn various cultures from different countries!! What’s more, they are all friendly and we are like a big united family. I can feel the wonderful atmosphere of study and all of my fellow students are all thirst for knowledge, of course so am I~~. hah…I also met two different new teachers. They are both knowledgeable and humorous. They all made us laugh and feel comfortable during class time. This also made me full of passion to learn. Among these four months here, I am sure I can learn much more from them!!! The very obvious difference between EAP2 and EAP3 that I can feel is that at the very beginning of EAP3, we received unbelievably much homework…~~… that meant I should do my best and pay my whole attention to this class. In class, I can learn how to use academic English expertly and some useful methods in learning. All of these are deeper than what I have leant in EAP2. After finishing it, I think my English will be improved greatly and academic English can be used flexibly in my undergraduate study.

cartoon and animation

In my childhood, the best thing I liked to do was staying at home and watching lots of cartoons. Half of my childhood kept being companied by the cartoon and animation. There are lots of classical works remaining in my memory which most came from our country, the USA, and Japan. Those from our country mainly showed the traditional brilliant culture and history, the precious and noble moral character in order to educate the children, for example 《The magic pen and Ma Liang》,《The snowboy》; those from the USA often displayed the humor to please the public or satirize some kinds of peple and lives, for instance《Tom and Jerry》,《Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck》; those from Japan generally expressed the great love, the spirits of fight and competition to encourage the public include the children to make progress continuously, such as 《Saint Seiya》,《SlamDunk》and so on. A thousand thanks for all the hardworking staff of the cartoon and animation which had bestowed me a rich and colourful childhood. Now though I don’t watch cartoon anymore, when the great memory come out, I feel I am still very young and the life is nicer.
