hornbill

Several days ago, I read an article about a kind of bird, hornbill, in a magazine. What shocked me most is that a hornbill has only one mate in its life. And if one of the couple unfortunately dies, the other member and its children will kill themselves very fast.
Nowadays, in the campus, you can see lovers wherever you are. They are hanging each other, kissing, saying honey words, which make you feel that they love each other so deeply that they will live with an old age in the following years. However, not long after this, you may most probably see the guy handing another girl’s hand and the girl smiling at another handsome boy. What do you think? They just want to feel the feeling of love and maybe they all feel lonely and then try to find just “partners”. They do not deeply understand the meaning of love.
Though it’s impossible for them to act like two hornbills, at least they can make love more pure. They can stay longer and stick longer with each other. If two persons really love each other very much, they’d have little chance to say goodbye to each other in spite of some unhappy things.
Hornbill, as a kind of bird, is not as advanced as human beings in many ways. But, In terms of love, they take it more seriously than some of the human beings. That’s the difference that we should take into account. And we human being should learn more about love from this bird.

Dear David,

Believe it or not, I have thought and discussed this topic these days.
It is said that the first motivation of falling in love for human beings is because of their biological trait as animal-like. However I argue it. But same you I am wondering why just a few people have the trait as same as hornbill for their mates, but unfortunately most people have the trait of other animals. S i g h

Hope to find a hornbill-like everlasting love
:)
