Sunday

Today is Sunday,I do not get up so early if there are not something I have to do, I am not accustomed to getting up so early on Sunday because I always think that Sunday is a relaxing day among the week. Last day was Saturday which we used to play and tomorrow is Monday which we start to work or study, so the Sunday is between the Saturday and Monday. If I spend too much time entertainment today,I won't have enough energy to study.
One of my good friends wants to buy computer today, he asked me to help him yesterday and I agreed. Friendship is more important than my sleeping. Even though my Sunday was a tired day I still feel happy, my greatest fun is to try my best to help my friends with all strength.
Today he and I went to Future Shop and walk around. He is hard to make a final decision and I also have little knowledge about this. We had to ask for help from a seller. He was a thin tall guy and was very nice. He told us a lot about the products and told us which one was better. Under his help, my friend bought one eventually.
On the way home, we talked about the plan about we go back to China. We were very excited and were eager to go back to enjoy life and watch Olympic Games in Beijing. What a good plan!!!

hornbill

Several days ago, I read an article about a kind of bird, hornbill, in a magazine. What shocked me most is that a hornbill has only one mate in its life. And if one of the couple unfortunately dies, the other member and its children will kill themselves very fast.
Nowadays, in the campus, you can see lovers wherever you are. They are hanging each other, kissing, saying honey words, which make you feel that they love each other so deeply that they will live with an old age in the following years. However, not long after this, you may most probably see the guy handing another girl’s hand and the girl smiling at another handsome boy. What do you think? They just want to feel the feeling of love and maybe they all feel lonely and then try to find just “partners”. They do not deeply understand the meaning of love.
Though it’s impossible for them to act like two hornbills, at least they can make love more pure. They can stay longer and stick longer with each other. If two persons really love each other very much, they’d have little chance to say goodbye to each other in spite of some unhappy things.
Hornbill, as a kind of bird, is not as advanced as human beings in many ways. But, In terms of love, they take it more seriously than some of the human beings. That’s the difference that we should take into account. And we human being should learn more about love from this bird.

Game in Life

'Game' --a word that becomes famous when NBA the greatest player Jordon once said'I love this game’. And now the word has two meanings i think: competition; game
Just take basketball for example. We all know that basketball is a kind of games, sometimes when you feel boring, you can play it with your friends to killing your time. Yes, it's a game but in the match, it becomes a compitition, because everyone wants to be the champion. First, i want to say: Not everyone can be success, though you may work hard. You know, we can't control the result. Of couse, when we lose, we feel so sad, especially we are called a 'loser’. But don't give up, please! Yes, the past can hurt, but you can't change it. I think you can either run from it or learn from it. Remember when you lose, don’t lose the lesson! A real successful man won't afraid of failure. They think it is wealth and experience. They tell themselves: only if i work a little harder than before and have a good luck, i must be success next time. Maybe they will lose again, but they are always full of self--confidence. So learn from the failure, you can change your way or work harder. In all, when you lose, don’t lose the confidence. Maybe when you want to give up, the success is closing to you. we should enjoy the process, because it is more important than the end.
Secondly, when you lose the game, don’t hate your opponent. Conversely we should be friends with our opponent, so we can know our shortage, and we can do it better next time.
please remember: respect our opponet, because they also work hard and pay attention; during it, consider game as a competition, after it, take it as a game.
When you lose ,say: IT'S JUST A GAME!

WHO AM I??

Maybe you will be surprised at the title. You wonder why I use the title"Who am I?”
Everyone is living on the earth with a unique name, unique character, unique way of living and many other things. But have I ever thought of that it is those make up a real you now?Sometimes it is very hard to understand why and how we react to things happen to us.
Human being is a very complicated animal.Because everyone is living in the society,he or she will inevitably be affected by people lving around him.Not only is his mind affected even changed by others` words and actions, but also his own behaviour can play an important role in affecting others.
Everyone has been receiving education from elementary school to high school. We received the same knowledge taught by teachers. But when we grow up,we gradually change our way in judging and treating things by our own system.
When we are adults, our characters have shaped in the stable form. Our abilities in dealing with things become more and more mature. Each one has his own set of world view.
So if you can know yourself better,it can help you find the flaws in your character, then improve them to make greater achievement by yourself.
So I am thinking how many flaws I have and what are they. Only if I find them, I can improve myself. This is the only way to communicate well with my classmates, co-workers, and friends in my whole life. Nobody can be a perfect person in the world, but anyone can be a excellent person in his or her mind. I am trying.

Lose and Gain in life

How many years can we be alive on this planet? how many times you are really feel happy from your heart during you past till now, and how many times are you satisfied for what you did or you have done? Life is really short, we even do not know when we will die, why we still struggle with those stuff, which make you tired and stress.

I accidently read news today on the internet about a guy whose just 26 years old and died suddenly. Her name is Mo Na, was a journalist in China. She suddenly passed away when she collected information.

See, how sudden the life is! the journalist was just graduated from her university 2 years, she would have a bright future as the way went by if she would alive, but .... Therefore, the only words that we could say are 'life is short and cruel'. we are all human being, we are not evil , not god, we could not change the way how it started and when it finish, but we can make it more meaningful, try to happy everyday.

Friends, I know all of you are great, and have a great ambitions for your future. that is good, however, if you can look back on your past and ask yourself, are you really happy with it, what you did in the past, and take a few minutes to think about the death of our life, and the rule of life, you might have different definition for your life. life should be enjoyed, its not to be stress or hard for you. Enjoy today, that is real life, becasue you dont know you are still alive tomorrow or not.

first i do not know what i want to talk about...this is just one month left for EAP3 so i am a little excited and also i am a little nervous. why i am excited? Because I will go back to my home country and enjoy the 4 month break!! I miss my parents and my friends so much and I think we can talk a lot for a whole day after I go back. Four greatest breakthroughs in China

From very little, I have known that China has four greatest breakthroughs: compass, gunpowder, photocopy technique, and papermaking. These four things make me be proud as a Chinese. I will introduce two of these four breakthroughs.
The first breakthrough I want to introduce is compass. Before the invention of the compass, people decided the directions mainly by the sun, the moon, and other celestial bodies, or landmarks such as mountains, stones, and trees. But, these methods had their restrictions: you cannot depend on a celestial body when the weather is bad, for instance, during rain, fog, and overcast days. While using landmarks only work within a small area. The first model of compass occurred in the Warring States Period in old China. It was called “Si Nan”. It was a natural magnet and it was very heavy. That was why people could not use this widely at that period. Gradually, people found the way to make artificial compass and it spread all over the world quickly.
The second one I will introduce is photocopy technique. Nowadays, people use photocopy technique very often. Especially for students and office workers, they use it almost everyday. Before the invention of this technique, the diffuseness of culture mainly depended on handwriting. Hand-writing copy costs lots of time and it was also easy to make some mistakes. A Chinese inventor called Bi Sheng invented this technique. At the very beginning, he carved lots of characters on a big wooden board, then he smeared full of ink on this board, and in the end he put a paper on this board. In this way, the new copy of the characters in the board occurred. This was the origin of the modern photocopy technique.
Here are the pictures of these two breakthroughs and the inventor of printing-Bi Sheng. Enjoy them~

Maybe working not business

Everyone in the world should have a job because he or she needs money to live. I often think about what will be my job in the future. Sometimes I want to be an entrepreneur and start my own company. Maybe that is because I want to be very rich~~(maybe everyone wants to be) but now, I changed my idea. I found that I did not have the characteristic and abilities to start and own my business. I think that I can not bear the whole pressure to be an owner. At this time, I just want to be an employee in a big successful corporation. But that is not because I do not want to earn more. I want to be a advanced employee who can earn lots of money~~hah…that is like day-dream….so I should fight for it.
Now I have a part-time job at Den. It is a restaurant company in the University. I work very hard. I learned a lot from this working experience. I know the important relationship between boss and employees, the important relationship between me and other workers, and how to work effectively I am sure this experience can really help me a lot in the future after I have a full-time job. The first important thing I should finish is my study. I want to work in a great business so that I will change my major from economics to business. Though the business school is harder, I like it. That will be an important step for my whole life.

The Trip to Banff

At the time I came to Calgary, I heard about that the Banff National Park was one of the best places you must visit, because it is extremely picturesque and it has a unique sight in Canada, even in North American. This Wednesday, my girlfriend and I went to the resort.
After about 2 hours bus time, we arrived at Banff. We saw the charming snow mountains which were around us as soon as we got off the bus. I have never seen snow mountains before, so this view made me more excited. Thought it was a little colder, it did not decrease our enthusiasm to this small town. This was a pacific town, though there were some visitors. That day’s weather was so great that the sunlight was shining on the land and the wooden houses which made the small town quiet and a little lazier. I thought residents preferred enjoying life to working or studying here. The houses in this town were all delicate and particular and they all made me want to visit them even live in them. After a short trip in the town centre, we took the town bus to the upper hot spring. I could not describe the beauty when I stood on the high point of the mountain. I immersed into the hot water, feeling the special sense, watching the transparent sky and the snowy mountains. I even fell asleep in the hot spring, so you can image how comfortable it was. Then we two went to the museum and saw the natural animal exemplars. The bison and deer were very huge and shocked me a lot.
I also wanted to go ski in Lake Louis but one day was not a enough time to go. That was the only pity of my trip. I cannot forget this trip in my life because this was my first trip in Canada and it was really fantastic!

Dream in My Real Life

Everyone has a dream.
Martin Luther King had a dream-and we can all recall his Civil Rights Speech. Phil Knight had a dream-and now the whole world knows his Nike Slogan “Just Do It”!
I also have a dream, but not only a simple one.
When I was in primary school, my dream was that I would be a doctor when I grew up. I’ll be the first person who produces a new medicine. This kind of medicine can make teachers relax when they are busy correcting their students’ exercises and preparing their lessons. Because one day when I woke up at midnight, I found my father, a senior Chinese teacher, was still busy with his work. I was deeply moved. I wish my father could be healthy and relaxed every minute. Sometimes, I dreamed that I had invented this kind of medicine and when I woke up, I was a little sad. I hope this kind of dream can predict the future and has magic power in order to fulfill my dream.
Now I’m university student. All my classmates and I are working hard. We all know the EAP3 is tough and difficult for us. We must study harder and harder in order to go to university, then when we finish our study; we can find a good job in society. My dream is also that. Though now I’m not good at study, I’ll try my best.
I know fantasy is hard to come true, but dream can.
I’ll work hard for my dreams, I’ll never give up.

Be Your Own Explorer

We all know that there are many explorers in the world, such as Columbus, Zhenghe, Captain Cook, and so on. They all have the curiosity of everything and they require everything new. They were all famous and made great progress for the whole earth. Not every common person can make so great progress for the world; however, everyone is able to be his or her own explorer.
When I was a child, I used to play with my friends outside. Climbing up and down the sand mountain and fight by water, riding my small toy tricycle in my garden, going out to catch grasshoppers to cook them to eat, hah~~ , and so on. I felt wonderful when I played with my friends and that things really made me happy everyday. Till one day, my uncle was watching soccer game and I was really attracted by the view of the screen. I saw the green grass playground and handsome players. From that time on, I knew this game would be my delight and it would make me full of pleased in my whole life and sure it was. At the very beginning, I knew nothing about this game. I made a decision to “explorer” it~~ I began to read the books about the skills of soccer and some stories about the soccer super stars. After every “exploring”, I would find something new which I did not know before, just like Columbus discovering the new land. Now I have a large deal of knowledge of soccer and I am good at playing it!
Finally, I want to say that everyone is his or her own explorer if he or she has the spirit of curiosity. I was attracted by soccer so I explored the field of soccer. Maybe you are interested in some other fields; why not try to explore them?? Just like you are the Columbus!!

Helpful exercises

In the wring class, we did a special exercise which has never done in EAP2 class. We exchanged our drafts each other and we read our partner’s draft. After it we wrote two stars and a wish as a general comment to the draft. This editing experience really helped us a lot. Before I came to Canada, I had also done this exercise in my country in Chinese class. The articles I wrote in Chinese has improved greatly because we also exchanged our drafts to classmates. Though the essay we wrote now is in English, the basic purpose of this exercise is the same as before. Through reading my partner’s essay, I can easily get the basic idea what he wanted to state. The techniques he used can be known and then maybe I can use the skills of writing he used in this essay into my next essay. Everyone has own advantages and disadvantages. The advantages he owns may not exist in my essay so I can learn a lot advantages to improve myself. We must praise our partners’ excellences in the comments and this can also help them to maintain these. The disadvantages we found in partners’ essay are the urgent aspects they really need to correct. This can make them avoid these disadvantages in the following essays. In addition, maybe I can not find the disadvantages of my writing but my partner finds them, this will be extremely helpful. Thus, this editing exercise can be a good way to help me and I will make great process on learning English.

new route

I cannot wait for the new semester and now the wonderful class is on the way!! This is the first week of my EAP3 class~ everything here is very fresh and excited! I met a lot of people here. Some of them were my classmates and also my good friends and the rest of them are new here whom I am unfamiliar with. But I always feel very excited because I can make much more friends and learn various cultures from different countries!! What’s more, they are all friendly and we are like a big united family. I can feel the wonderful atmosphere of study and all of my fellow students are all thirst for knowledge, of course so am I~~. hah…I also met two different new teachers. They are both knowledgeable and humorous. They all made us laugh and feel comfortable during class time. This also made me full of passion to learn. Among these four months here, I am sure I can learn much more from them!!! The very obvious difference between EAP2 and EAP3 that I can feel is that at the very beginning of EAP3, we received unbelievably much homework…~~… that meant I should do my best and pay my whole attention to this class. In class, I can learn how to use academic English expertly and some useful methods in learning. All of these are deeper than what I have leant in EAP2. After finishing it, I think my English will be improved greatly and academic English can be used flexibly in my undergraduate study.
